This garment consists on the depiction of the 'coral bleach' phenomenon, which occurs on coral reefs due to global warming. I portrayed the corals with calico flounces draped around the bodice to add some volume to the dress's bottom. The flounces are dyed of indigo blue on the edges while also being sewn around with black thread, thereby representing the bleaching process on corals. This was mainly intended to create awareness on the effects of climate change on ocean life as part of a project, all while embodying said concept in a melancholic, yet visually pleasing fashion.
